Colfe’s 4 – 2 Darrick Wood

Playing in front of a large crowd at The Valley Sam Wallis headed Colfe’s into an early 3rd minute lead, followed eight minutes later with a sublime left foot strike from Conor Henderson. Playing assured and controlled football it was the perfect start for the Colfe’s team. Darrick Wood opened their scoring on 18 minutes but immediately a firm shot from Alex Bentley restored Colfe’s two goal advantage. In first half stoppage time Conor Henderson virtually settled the match as he cut in from the right and made it 4 – 1 with an accurate and powerful shot.

In the second period Colfe’s were content to focus on keeping a clean sheet. As time was running out opportunities arose for substitute appearances from Marcel Reid, Daniel Courtneidge and Enis Kemal.

With just three minutes on the clock Darrick Wood scored a deserved consolation goal with a well taken header from a free kick. The final whistle saw victorious scenes as Colfe’s supporters congratulated their team on the pitch.
Simon Osborn, ex professional player and this season’s manager of Bromley Football Club, thanked the officials and presented both the runners – up and winners medals to all players, before handing the “AdvertiserCup” to Colfe’s captain Chris Padfield.

This has been Colfe’s most successful season ever and before finally breaking up the squad have a Summer tour to Sweden to look forward to, where they are taking part in the well known “ Gothia Cup”.
