Please note: Our waiting lists for 3+ and 4+ 2011 are now closed.
Admission to the Pre-Preparatory and Nursery (3+ and 4+): Entry to the Nursery and Reception classes is non-selective. There are no formal assessments. Places are offered by date order of registration and sibling priority. It is advisable to register your child as soon as possible.
Admission to the Prep School (7+): A formal assessment is not required for the transition from the PPN to the Prep. There is a formal assessment for children who do not attend the PPN. Assessments in English and maths are required before securing entry into the school. Occasionally children join the school in other year groups. To assess their ability, they are given standardised tests in English, maths and non-verbal reasoning appropriate to their age. Wherever possible, applicants will be asked to join the class they may be going into to give them the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the school and their peers. Account is always taken of children with special educational needs.
Senior School: Places do sometimes become available in Years 8, 9 & 10; please contact the Registrar for further details. Potential parents are also welcome to visit the school during a normal school day. Again please contact the Registrar.
The Sixth Form: The Assessment for students wishing to join our Sixth Form this September has already taken place. However, applications are still welcome before the end of the summer term, and their application will be judged upon their assessment results, an interview and an academic reference (including predicted GCSE grades) provided by the student’s current school. If we believe the student has the potential to meet the academic criteria for Sixth Form entry, we will offer a conditional place for September. The standard offer is that the student achieves at least 14 points at GCSE, with an A* or A equating to 3 points, a B equating to 2 and a C equating to 1 point. We also require the student to get A grades in at least four subjects, preferably in the subjects that he/she wishes to study in the Sixth Form. Prospective parents/pupils are welcome to visit the school at any time. Please make an appointment with the Registration Secretary.
